The construction of the first phase of Glen Erasmia in 1997 was the culmination of work that had already started in the middle 1980's.

Initially Glen Erasmia was designed purely as a suburb of Kempton Park. Similar to Glen Marais. However the concept of security villages like Silver Lakes in the Pretoria and Dainfern in Johannesburg inspired the developers to rather establish an up market security village in Kempton park.

In the early 1990's the original layout was scrapped and a new design commissioned. 18 months later after numerous layouts, Glen Erasmia Boulevard was eventually finalized.

The layout was resubmitted to all the relevant authorities and government departments in 1995. Final approval was granted.

The selling of stands commenced in October 1997 with a starting price of R55 000-00. The interest rate hike of 1998 led to a severe downturn in the property market, resulting in only 1-2 stands selling on average per month.

The first house was built in 1998 and a year later an additional 2 houses were constructed. The market recovered in 2000 and ever since then there has been a huge demand for stands. As an investment Glen Erasmia has performed exceptionally well, and this is evident in the fact that stands of approximately 650sq/m in 1998 sold for R60 000-00. Now sell for R220 000-00.
